- Explicit overrides
- Human visibility into what's remembered
Without these, memory is just archive.

The system brings up irrelevant details. Misses meaningful patterns. Feels slightly misaligned.
Users adjust quietly. They stop correcting. They stop expecting improvement.
Learning ends, even if memory grows.
Designing to forget well
Forgetting should be intentional.
Some things fade unless repeated. Some reset between contexts. Some persist across time.
Good memory design mirrors human restraint.
Not everything needs to be remembered to feel intelligent.
Sometimes intelligence is knowing what to let go.
